1982; man walks on the moon for the first time, the Beatles disband and Rob Hunter is born. Quite a year. But, then, he’s quite a guy.
After bursting onto the comedy scene from relative obscurity, the 2005 Raw State Champion has already established himself as one of Adelaide’s most popular acts and though not pleasant to talk to off stage, his on-stage presence commands attention.
His angelic good looks and dark mind combine to create a clean yet edgy style of comedy that appeals to both highly intelligent and dim-witted audiences alike. As Adelaide’s own doyen of comedy, Craig Egan, has analogized,

With Rob’s comedy it’s like he leads a horse to water and then slaps it in the face.”

In 2007 Rob presented his debut solo show ‘Rob Hunter Is Shoes?’ to sold-out crowds and critical acclaim at the Adelaide Fringe, the offbeat show receiving an award nomination and 4 star review.
This was followed by a role as one of three comedians to star in the hugely successful ‘Comedian Sandwich Delicious’ at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (Runner-up Groggy Squirrel Most Popular Show)
.
Rob then spent 2 months in the UK performing in London and at the Edinburgh Festival, including multiple appearances at Edinburgh’s Phat Cave, Spank and at the infamous Late ‘N’ Live.

On returning to Adelaide, Rob delivered his brand new show 'Rob Hunter: MOOSECOW' at the 2008 Adelaide Fringe. The show was another critical and popular success, again regularly selling out Rhino Room and earning multiple outstanding reviews including a second consecutive 4 stars from The Advertiser and Commendation at the Fringe Awards.

In 2009 Rob performed MOOSECOW to sold out crowds at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, again earning multiple outstanding reviews as well as a Golden Gibbo Nomination for Best Independent Show.

Rob currently writes for ABC's Spicks and Specks (Wednesdays at 8:30pm)
