Pineapple HeadRob Hunter is a comedian and writer from Adelaide (Australia) now living in Melbourne (also Australia).

He has performed stand-up all around Australia and the UK and has written for various radio and TV shows including Spicks & Specks (ABC), Rove (TEN), The Comedy Hour (ABC Radio), You’re Skitting Me (ABC3), Problems (ABC), Rosehaven (ABC), Saturday Night (TEN) and Get Krack!n (ABC). He has also written almost 100 somewhat popular articles for SBS Comedy.

An accomplished festival performer, Rob’s stand-up shows have received critical and popular acclaim at the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival resulting in multiple outstanding reviews and award nominations.

Rob has two DVDs available. His multi award-nominated stand-up show ‘Moosecow’ is available now by clicking here. (It looks a little bit old now but it is still okay.)

The other is a play/sketch show thing he wrote and performed with his pal Luke McGregor called ‘Special Detective’ that was described as “…an absolute gem… a joy to watch. Simultaneously sophisticated and silly.” (Julia Chamberlain – Chortle UK). “Great fun… Hilarious!” – The Advertiser. (It also got one really terrible review but Rob still thinks it’s the best thing he’s ever done. The DVD is available now by clicking here.)

In 2011 Rob was hand-picked to perform in the main theatre of the world-renowned Sydney Opera House. Rob was frightened but did a good job.

He’s also toured Australia extensively, most recently with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, visiting dozens of towns in New South Wales, Tasmania and regional Victoria.

As well as regularly performing stand up, Rob also presents a talk and sketch show called ‘Late O’Clock’ that can be seen here on his Youtube channel and live with his pals at various comedy festivals. It has featured guests including Stephen K Amos, Adam Hills, Hannah Gadsby, Frank Woodley and heaps more, and is a bit like a live version of ‘Between Two Ferns’ or Shaun Micallef’s old ABC show but with less heart. You can read more about it by clicking here.

Rob is currently working on an animated sketch series called ‘Dang It To Heck’ with animator pal Chris Edser. Episodes can be viewed here on his Youtube Channel

Finally, here are some other nice things (and one bad one that makes Rob laugh.)

“A breath of fresh air – A lovely lateral humour. There is no doubt that in over-populated stand up land, he stands tall.” **** The Advertiser 2007

“Downright weird but darn funny… Pure gold.” **** – The Advertiser 2008

“Sharp, angular and intelligent – a powerful manifesto of funny.” – The Age

“Writing talent to burn, leaving his noisier companions in the dust as far as wit and invention are concerned.” -Chortle (UK)

“Both guests called their host a word beginning with C, the word wasn’t clever.” -The Pun
